Howard J. Moore Jr., 66 MILFORD - Howard J. Moore Jr., died Wednesday, February 3, 2010, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. He was 66. Mr. Moore was born in Milford, the son of the late Howard James and Ella M. (Betts) Moore. He proudly served in the Delaware Army National Guard. He worked as a maintenance technician at Johnson Controls in Middletown for 27 years. Howard was a man of many talents. He was an avid reader, enjoyed target shooting with rifles, working with computers, riding motorcycles and listening to Jimmy Buffett and old time rock and roll. He loved animals and had three cats of his own. He was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge 534, the local radio controlled aircraft association, and was a ham radio operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay West Moore in 2007. He is survived by his sister and her husband, Maggie and Steve Long of Felton; a nephew, Kenneth Long and his wife, Katie of Seaford; a great-nephew, Joshua Long of Seaford; a step-son, Chris Jones of Harrington; a step-daughter and her husband, Vikki and Wesley Masten of Burrsville; his first spouse, Peggy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Howard will be remembered for his generous warmth, curious mind, and great sense of humor. A Celebration of Howard's Life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Hwy., Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720; or to the Delaware SPCA, 455 Stanton Christiana Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
