QUESTION OF THE WEEK

How worried are you about climate change?

Posted

A new Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control survey found that 79% of respondents believe that climate change is a serious threat to future generations. What concerns you and what can the state do to address these threats?

  • If I truly believed what was told to us in the early ’80s, I would be on beachfront property now, or the area would look like Holland. — Jeff Grzeszczak
  • Let’s make up a problem called “climate change” and use it to frame our money-laundering operation. — Jason Sharp
  • Is it possible that climate change is primarily a result of the Earth returning to its natural climate following the cataclysmic event that caused the last ice age? — Kevin Charles
  • What was the total number of people polled? — Margaret Deibert Tifer
  • Not the least bit concerned. — Dave Smith
  • Nope, the climate will change regardless of humans. — Gene Hansen
  • Bring on rising levels! Maybe I’ll be beachfront. I have 0% worry. Chances are 100% that God put us here. He has a plan. — Betty Mcfall
  • Little to none. — Richard Kerchevall
  • Well, if you look at history, some of the hottest days on record were back in the early 1900s, and some of the coldest were back in those days, too. Climate change is a money grab, a fraud and a scare tactic. Look up your history on temperatures on certain days of the year. — Dylan Register
  • Not one, single bit. — Matthew Buchholtz
  • Delaware is the lowest-lying state in the country. Just a few inches of sea level increase will devastate farming east of Del. 1. To all those who bemoan solar, imagine the loss of tens of thousands of acres of prime farming land to salty seawater poisoning. Climate change is real. — Jody Sweeney
  • Weren’t we supposed to be underwater already? — H.E. Ricketts
  • Well, considering that it’s a huge scam, I don’t worry about it. Summer is hot, fall is warm, winter is cold, and spring is usually cool. — Rick Kerchevall
  • Not one bit. Quit stealing my money. — Craig Ketterman
  • Since there is nothing we can do about it, I am not worried. I’m more worried about Democrats penalizing me for something that I have no control over. Just look at the high electric bills. — Mark Schmalhofer
  • These comments are full of ignorance. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose. Most of them don’t know the difference between weather and climate, clearly. — Amy Tierney Bowen
  • I’m concerned that these commenters vote for people who don’t understand science and climate change. — Fern WG
