What are your concerns during federal government shutdowns, whether averted or not? Do you worry about a loss of services, the risk of health care lapses, workforce morale and/or a dysfunctional government overall?
It affects me and my family 0%. I go to work every day, same as during COVID-19. — Travis Rust
As long as my Social Security check is still deposited, I am good. And my health insurance, plus secondary insurance, is excellent. But my heart and soul aches for all those federal workers and military personnel. There are so many. So, all Congress members should be docked all pay. And their pay, including the president’s salary, should go to supplement our military personnel. — Denise Bella
I’m not at all affected. Keep it closed! Since it is closed, and we are not getting all our services, we can disregard federal income tax, right? — Diane Butters-Eastburn
It doesn’t affect me. Donald Trump should fire as many as he can and eliminate as many agencies as possible. — Rick Kerchevall
No effect whatsoever. This is nothing but political gamesmanship. — Anthony DeFeo
This directly affects me and my family, 100%. My wife and I are both home with no pay (I might get backpay, eventually). Our daughter-in-law is active duty, with two young kids at home. She is working full time, without pay. And, if this drags on too long, they will probably lose their benefits from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, as well, which will really make it difficult to feed the kids. This is all while a bunch of overpaid politicians who can’t do their jobs still get paid. — Michael Hurlburt
Not one single bit. I don’t need the government to live and be a good person. — Mary Bell
If only our Democratic politicians would stop lying to their constituents and tell them exactly why the government shut down. They want to spend another trillion on illegal immigrant health care. They also have the mainstream media in their pockets, spewing the same bull. — Bob Hice
