Homer H. Bramble Jr., 85

SEAFORD - Homer H. Bramble Jr., of Seaford, died on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Life Care at Lofland Park, Seaford. He was 85. Homer was born in Seaford on April 5, 1923, the son of the late Homer H. Bramble Sr. and Lola Meredith Bramble of Seaford. Mr. Bramble retired from the Delaware State Police Force as a Lieutenant in 1967 after 20 years of service. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving in India and China. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford, Hiram Masonic Lodge 21 in Seaford and the Civil War Round Table. His enjoyments in life were spending time with his family telling stories, gardening, civil war history, family genealogy and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vera Holland Bramble; a daughter, Renee Hammond and her husband Ray of Seaford; three sons, Barry B. Bramble and his wife Judith of Cinnaminson, N.J., Robert Bramble and his wife Francine of Glen Allen, Va., and James Bramble and his wife Sharon of Newport News, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial services with State Police Honors will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 202 North St, Seaford, DE 19973.
