HomeGoods will open at the Centre at Salisbury on Sunday, Oct. 23, with 65 full-time and part-time employees and a promise that prices will be 20 to 60 percent less than other stores.

“Our stores help make houses feel like home,” said John Ricciuti, president of HomeGoods.

The 25,280-square-foot establishment will open at 8 a.m. on grand opening day and close at 8 p.m. Regular hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mayor Jake Day said he’s excited to see “another national brand join the Salisbury shopping scene.”

“With $1.6 billion in retail sales, Salisbury is the Delmarva Peninsula’s shopping hub. I’m proud to see it continue to grow,” he said.

In return, Ricciuti said the company is “thrilled to provide Salisbury shoppers with this exhilarating shopping experience.”

HomeGoods will offer “an exciting destination for shoppers,” said Lisa Zahn, who handles public relations for the Framingham, Mass.-based company.

“Our values, designer brands and unique assortment make HomeGoods. Our high-quality merchandise at incredible prices allows shoppers to express themselves through their décor and create a home that truly reflects who they are for less than they expect,” Ricciuti said.

The average store is 25,000 square feet and features vignettes to give shoppers decorating ideas.

“We buy from all kinds of vendors, including top brands and designers, as well as artisans from around the world. We also have some merchandise manufactured for us to bring you exceptional fashion and quality at an amazing price,” according to the company website.

HomeGoods operates more than 500 stores nationwide and is a division of The TJX Cos.

As of April, the company operated nearly 3,600 stores including T.J.Maxx, Marshalls Sierra Trading Post and HomeGoods in the United States; Winners, HomeSense and Marshalls in Canada; T.K.Maxx and HomeSense stores and tkmaxx.com in Europe; and Trade Secret stores in Australia.
