The Delaware Justice of the Peace Court has a new court administrator.

Starting Monday, Mark E. Hitch replaced Marianne Kennedy, who retired after more than 21 years of service.

Mr. Hitch studied criminal justice at the University of Delaware and trained at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and at Harvard Kennedy School.

He worked for the New Castle County Police Department for 24 years before joining the Justice of the Peace Court in 2013. He most recently served as operations manager for the court.

Mr. Hitch will be managing 280 budgeting, personnel, security and case-management staff members across 15 locations.
