Hilda Mason Dukes, 90 WORTON, Md. - Hilda Mason Dukes, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown, Md. She was 90. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose Caroline Fogwell Mason. Hilda Mason was born in Worton, Md. in 1919. She attended public schools in Kent County and graduated from Chestertown High School. She worked in the packaging department of Lehigh Chemical Corporation for over 25 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a lifelong member of Union United Methodist Church in Worton, Md., where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for 53 years, in addition to holding many other offices. She was a member of the Frank M. Jarman Post 36 of the American Legion, where she served both as secretary and as chaplain. Her husband, William Milford Dukes, died in 1995. A daughter and a son survive her, Linda Davis and her husband, Chip of Wilmington and William (Billy) Dukes and his companion, Amy of Worton, Md.; a brother, Franklin (Doc) Mason and his wife, Gwynne of Worton, Md.; three grandchildren, Robert Dukes of Easton, Brenda Bass of Atlanta, Ga., and Adam Moore of Wilmington; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a beloved friend, Charlotte Walls. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, Chestertown, Md., where friends may call one hour prior to the service. There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Worton, Md. Rev. Kenneth Hickman will officiate. The family suggests donations may be made to Union United Methodist Church, c/o Cathi Blakeney, 120 Pine St., Chestertown, MD 21620. Arrangements made by Marvin V.
