Hilda Marie Thompson, 69

MARYDEL, Md. - Hilda Marie Thompson, of Marydel, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton. She was 69.

Hilda was born on Oct. 12, 1938, in Greensboro, daughter of the late Clarence Allen and Martha (Kemp) Allen.

While her children were young, she worked at Playtex, SanDel Packaging, Ridgely Maryland Cannery, and more recently for DeClean Egg Farm, Marydel.

She enjoyed her later life as a homemaker, spending time with children and grandchildren.

Hilda loved to do crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, watching wrestling and collecting porcelain dolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Roland Thompson and Homer C. Thompson; and siblings Buddy Allen, Clifford Allen, Alfred Allen, Pearl Thorpe, and Mary Holleger.

She is survived by a son, Richard C. Thompson of Georgetown; four daughters, Lou Ann Collier of Grasonville, Patricia Poswinski and her husband John of Dover, Del., Anita Legg of Townsend, Del., and Brenda McCoy and her husband Gary of Dover; two sisters, Hazel Blake of Dover and Louise Graham of Felton, Del.; six granddaughters; six grandsons; six great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two expected great-grandchildren; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours before services.

Burial will be Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
