Hilda M. Allen, 70

GREENWOOD - Hilda M. Allen, 70, of Greenwood, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at the DE Hospice Center, Milford. She is the daughter of the late Arthur Fiori and Eleanor Benchbach Fiori. In earlier years, she worked for WT Grant Co. and then The Sussex Co. for 12 years. She was Head Cashier and Customer Service for the Acme Market in Milford for 31 years retiring in 2000. She attended Calvery UM Church Milford and the First Baptist Church in Milford. Mrs. Allen loved gardening and traveling especially to Lancaster, Pa. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Floyd James "Jim" Allen; one daughter, Lisa and her husband Robert Sanger of Bridgeville; one brother, George and wife Violet Fiori, Marydel, Md.; two grandchildren, Kyle and wife Shannon King, and Stacy and husband Erin Irvine; and many friends, especially her "Acme Buddies." Funeral services will be noon, today, Sept. 10, in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home. Interment will be Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
