Hettie Ann Riley Jones, 75 LEWES - Hettie Ann Riley Jones, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010. She was born on April 10, 1934, to the late Ida Mae Riley Carter. She leaves to cherish her memories eight children, Cecil (Teresa) Jones of Lewes, Larry (Rebecca) Jones of Belltown, Diane (James) Wright of Salisbury, Md., Carolyn Peeks of Pittsburgh, Peggy Sampson of Lewes, Gwenda (Danny) Adamson of Seaford, Judy Jones of Georgetown, and Daniel (Kathy) Jones of Kennesaw, Ga.; three sisters, Elizabeth Hill of Lewes, Helen Meades of Smyrna, and Martha Heagy of Newark; one brother, William Jones of Wilmington; one sister-in-law, Gladys Jones of Lithonia, Ga.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Hettie was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Jones, Sr.; two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Pauline Simmins; three brothers, Charles Carter, Jackie Carter, and Jerry Carter; and one granddaughter, Taiwan Jones. A public viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, at the St. Georges A.M.E. Church, 317 Park Avenue, Lewes. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Feb. 20, at the St. Georges A.M.E. Church, 317 Park Avenue, Lewes, where friends may also call two hours prior to the services. Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Lewes. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com Arrangements were handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.
