ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Josh Hoover had a 4-yard touchdown run in overtime and No. 6 Indiana kept Michigan out of the end zone in a 13-6 win. The defending national champion Hoosiers avoided losing two straight for the first time in three years with coach Curt Cignetti — and won at the Big House for the first time since 1967. The Wolverines started quarterback Tommy Carr and sat Bryce Underwood, but the freshman didn’t fare as well as he did last week coming off the bench in a win over Penn State.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Ty Dieffenbach threw a 63-yard touchdown pass and handed off for three others as No. 9 UCLA beat Michigan State 28-10. This marks the Bruins' first 7-0 start since 2005. UCLA briefly trailed for the first time since beating ranked Oregon two weeks ago. The Spartans led 7-0 after recovering a fumble, but UCLA pulled away. Jaivian Thomas tied it with a 7-yard run, and Wayne Knight scored to put UCLA ahead. Dieffenbach, in his second start, hit Brian Rowe Jr. for a 63-yard TD. The Spartans, who have lost six straight, were missing key players because of injuries and lost more during the game.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Southern California transfer Bryan Jackson scored a first-half touchdown against his former team to help Wisconsin surprise the No. 16 Trojans 24-7 on Saturday night. Wisconsin (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) had its second victory of the season over a ranked opponent. The Badgers won 24-20 at then-No. 13 Penn State on Sept. 26. Jackson spent the last two seasons at USC. He rushed 5 yards for a score to put Wisconsin in front 10-7 with less than two minutes left in the first half. The touchdown was the first for Jackson with the Badgers. Jayden Maiava threw two interceptions in the first half for the Trojans (5-2, 2-2).

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Luke Drzewiecki kicked a 46-yard field goal as time expired, and Minnesota beat No. 15 Iowa 13-10 Saturday. Drake Lindsey and Jalen Smith connected on a 39-yard pass play on third down from the Minnesota 33 with 39 seconds left to set the Gophers up for the winning points. Held to a season-low 209 yards of offense, Minnesota also got a third-quarter rushing touchdown from Darius Taylor. Averaging 194 rushing yards per game, the Hawkeyes were held to 90. They were 4 of 16 on third down, threw three interceptions and fumbled four times, losing only one.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — UCLA is an odd fit geographically in the Big Ten Conference. Stylistically, coach Bob Chesney has the Bruins playing the type of ground-and-pound football that fits right in with the conference’s pedigree. Wayne Knight, Anthony Woods and Jaivian Thomas each ran for a touchdown to lead No. 9 UCLA to a 28-10 victory over Michigan State on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins ran for 245 yards, the fifth time this season they’ve eclipsed 200. UCLA (7-0) leads the Big Ten with 233 rushing yards per game and 24 rushing touchdowns in its first season under Chesney after he was hired away from James Madison.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Aidan Chiles threw for three touchdowns for the third time this season and rushed for two others to lead No. 24 Northwestern past Rutgers 42-14 for a fourth straight victory. Caleb Komolafe rushed for 150 yards and a TD. Griffin Wilde, Alex Honig and Drew Wagner caught passes for scores as Northwestern (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten) raced to a 28-3 lead late in the first half. Rutgers starting quarterback Dylan Lonergan left after sustaining a blow to the head in the first quarter and didn’t return. He was initially replaced by AJ Surace, then by third-string QB Sean Ashenfelder late in the third quarter.

UNDATED (AP) — Miami had no problem passing its first test as the No. 1 team in the AP Top 25. No. 2 BYU wasn’t as fortunate. Playing with their highest ranking since 1984, the Cougars lost 39-31 in two overtimes to UCF and the ranks of the unbeaten thinned to Miami, UCLA and Utah. UCF was among five unranked teams to knock off ranked opponents. No. 8 Texas Tech lost to Cincinnati, No. 11 Tennessee to South Carolina, No. 15 Iowa to Minnesota and No. 16 Southern California to Wisconsin.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Aidan Laughery had 123 yards rushing and a touchdown and Collin Dixon made a diving catch for a 23-yard score late in the fourth quarter as Illinois defeated Oregon 21-10. It was the Ducks’ first Big Ten road road loss since joining the conference in 2024. They had won 10 straight. Michael Clayton II was 11-of-18 passing for 84 yards and two TDs for Illinois (4-3, 2-2) including the throw to Dixon in the corner of the end zone. Dixon had six catches for 65 yards. Dylan Raiola was 27-of-41 for 246 yards for Oregon (4-3, 2-2). Dakorian Moore caught nine passes for 70 yards. Jordon Davison had 14 carries for 92 yards and a TD and Dierre Hill Jr. ran for 83 yards on 13 carries.
