Swanwick made a triple bogey on the 11th hole and Laopakdee make a birdie. That four-shot swing took the Thai from a two-shot deficit to a two-shot lead. He made only last birdie and shot 70 to win by three shots. He joins Hideki Matsuyama as back-to-back winners of the Asia-Pacific Amateur.
UNDATED (AP) — Call it the college football season of chaos. A year of top-10 teams falling like leaves in October continued with No. 2 Ohio State’s 38-10 loss to Southern California. Playing without injured quarterback Julian Sayin, the Buckeyes struggled to keep up with the once-ranked Trojans to become the fourth team ranked No. 2 or higher in the AP Top 25 to lose in the past four weeks. That’s 11 top-10 teams to lose in the same span. Top-ranked Miami nearly made it losses by Nos. 1-2 for the second time this season before scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns to hold off North Carolina 38-35. No. 17 SMU, No. 20 Northwestern, No. 24 Oklahoma State and No. 25 Wisconsin also lost.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Max Carroll returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown, quarterback Jaden Craig ran 17 yards for the go-ahead score with 1:09 remaining and TCU beat Kansas 22-16. The Jayhawks had gone ahead 16-14 on Martin Connington’s 27-yard field goal after a 94-yard interception return by the Horned Frogs was wiped out by a pass interference penalty. Cole Ballard’s desperation pass as time expired was incomplete as Kansas couldn’t hold a 13-0 halftime lead and dropped to 0-6 in Fort Worth since TCU joined the Big 12 in 2012.
