Henry Hooper Rust, 73

FARMINGTON - Henry Hooper Rust, of Farmington, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, unexpectedly at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 73. Hooper was born, the youngest of seven children, in Farmington, on June 13, 1935, to the late Frank and Mildred (Jones) Rust. Hooper worked for the late Olin Davis of Harrington as a groom and then the Woodbridge School District for thirty years, as a custodian, retiring in 1998. His hobbies all involved being outdoors, including growing wonderful tomatoes and pole beans that were prized in the community, the trotters at Harrington Raceway, and especially hunting and fishing. He leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and numerous hunting and fishing buddies who will all miss him. Happy hunting Hooper! In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Arlie Rust, Leon Rust, Dick Rust, Laura Mae Davis, Marian Knox, and Harvey Rust. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Laurina (Gustafson) Rust of Farmington; daughter and son-in- law, Donna Lee and Daniel E. Williams; granddaughters, Paula L. and Lori B. Williams; and extended family too numerous to mention, as anyone who attended the last Rust family reunion can attest. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 26, in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
