Hellen W. Clough

Millington, Md. - Hellen W. Clough died peacefully on Wednesday Aug. 15, 2018 at Kent Hospice Center in Chestertown.
Mrs. Clough was born in Hartly, the daughter of the late John M. and Mary Plochy Walla.
She graduated from Smyrna High School where she was her Senior Class Valedictorian and had perfect attendance her entire 12 years of schooling.
Mrs. Clough worked as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for a couple different local firms, most recently at Angelica Nursery.
Mrs. Clough was a Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 652, Millington and enjoyed attending the Galena Busy Bees Senior Group for many years. Her interests included, ceramics, needle point, and cooking and playing on her tablet. She loved to dance and most importantly, spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and her great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clough was predeceased by her husband, Nelson "Dickie" Clough; a great-grandson, Joshua Garrett; and brothers and sisters, Molly Melville, John Walla, Mary Lloyd, Rosie Mazko, Frances Comegys and Frank Walla.
She is survived by two daughters, Victoria "Vickie" Garrett and her husband Earl of Millington, Md., and Cheryl "Cheri" Clough of Sudlersville, Md.; three grandchildren, Daniel E. Garrett and wife Dianne of Sudlersville, Md., David N. Garrett and fiancée Cathy of Clayton and Wade P. Garrett of Millington, Md.; five great-grandchildren, Julian T. Garrett of Sudlersville, Md, David N. Garrett Jr. of Clayton, Rylee N. Garrett of Clayton, Ashley Cox of Clayton and Seeley M. Garrett of Sudlersville, Md.; and one great-great-grandson, Hunter Cox of Clayton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md., where friends and family may call after 12 p.m.
Interment will follow in Sudlersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
