
Helene Marie Black, 49
MILFORD - Helene Marie Black passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Pennsylvania Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Helene was born September 28, 1972, in Milford, Delaware to Robert E. Black and the late Verna H. Black. Helene had attended Washington College as well as Wesley College.
Helene worked for Boscov's in Dover, first as a sales associate and later in the Human Resources Department for ten years. She later worked for the State of Delaware, first for the Kent County Board of Elections, in the Campaign Finance Department and later moved to the Commissioner of Elections Office where she was the Office Manager.
Helene was a member of the Piece Makers Quilt Guild and her beloved sewing bee group, Threads in Time. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and doing paper craft projects. Most of all, she treasured her friends and family!
She was preceded in death by her mother, Verna H. Black; and her sister, Verna Anne Black.
She is survived by her father, Robert E. Black; and brother, John M. Black, his wife Kim all of Goldsboro, Md.; her nieces, Kathryn Tran, Andrea Applegate; and nephew, John M. Black, Jr.; and many friends. She is also survived by her partner of over 30 years, Paul W. Greenage of Milford, Del.; stepson, Michael P. Greenage and his wife Laura of Roanoke, Va.
Services will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Rd. (Route 10), Dover, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Greensboro Cemetery, in Greensboro, Md.
