Helen Zelko, 90

DOVER - Helen Zelko, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, in Capitol Nursing Home, Dover. She was 90. She was born on May 14, 1918 in Chester, Pa., daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Oshkoska) Siwakosky. Helen had worked as a cafeteria manager for Hartly School. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of the Dover Lioness Club and a member of the Harvest Years, Dover. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Zelko. She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Gleadow, of Dover; two sisters, Louise Reese, of Freeport, Fla., and Mary Petit Demange, of Media, Pa.; a grandson, Stephen Gleadow, of Dover; three nephews, Mark Petit Demange, of Oxford, Pa., Matthew Petit Demange, of Salem, N.J., and Donald Reese, of Freeport, Fla.; and a niece, Mary Agnes Benson, of Philadelphia, Pa. A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be private at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
