Helen R. Morris
Helen passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Bayhealth Medical Center of Dover. Helen was born January 9, 1941 in New Jersey to the late Vella Cuff and Paul Jerome Ridgeway Sr.
She was preceded in death in January 2018 by her beloved husband of 57 years, Carlos C. Morris Sr. whom she married on August 13, 1960.
She was also preceded in death by two siblings, a brother, Paul (Butch) Ridgeway Jr.; and sister, Emma Saunders. Helen leaves behind five children all of Dover, Carla Morris, Carlos Morris Jr. and his wife Connie, Dawn Morris and her significant other Eric Bantum, Alfred Morris, and Craig Morris. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Carlos Morris III and his wife Ashley, and Marcus Morris. Helen also leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Judith Ridgeway, Leona Morris, and Gladys Burrell and her husband Floyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen retired from Bayhealth Medical Center, Central Supply in 2008. Helen was a devoted mother who enjoyed working seek and find puzzles and word scrambles. She enjoyed watching TV game shows, old westerns, and the Three Stooges. She enjoyed sitting outdoors and growing flowers both indoors and outdoors. She had a large collection of bells and magnets from numerous locations. Helen also enjoyed watching Phillies games, camping with her family, and having family meals on the holidays.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10) Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Services will be streamed online for those who cannot be in attendance (www.facebook.com/torbertfuneralchapels).
