CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Helen Marie Barbosa, of Chestertown, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Chester River Manor, Chestertown. She was 68. Helen M. Barbosa was born May 11, 1940, in Chestertown, the daughter of the late Layton Russum and Mamie Holden. Mrs. Barbosa was a happy homemaker who enjoyed cooking, home decorating, gardening, country music but most of all enjoyed being home with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barbosa was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John Barbosa; two sisters, Anna Mae Russum and Mary Dunning; and three brothers, Howard Russum, Erving Russum, and Wesley Russum. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Marie Stafford and husband Sonny of Chestertown, Penny Lee Usilton and husband Mitch of Rock Hall, and Kimberly Sue King and husband Mike of Chesapeake Beach; one son, James Dean Reynolds and wife Dee of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepsons, John Barbosa Jr. and wife Donna of Aston, Pa., and Joseph Barbosa and wife Barbara of Aston, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Betty Jean Sparklin and husband Ralph of West Chester, Pa., and Doris Hanson and husband Flemming of Bethany Beach, Del.; four brothers, Ralph Russum of Chestertown, Calvin Russum of Crumpton, Edwin Russum and wife Mary Margaret of Queenstown, and Billy Russum of Salisbury; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Russum of Downingtown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Russ Jacquette of Chesapeake Beach, Nicholas Usilton of Rock Hall, Samantha King of Chesapeake Beach, and Ivy Usilton of Rock Hall; nine step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends may call one hour prior. Private interment will be held at Double Creek Cemetery in Chestertown, following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
