DOVER - Helen M. Withrow died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at home. She was born Oct. 12, 1930 in Marshfield, Wisc., to the late John C. Wachtl and Hattie Bradley Wachtl. Helen worked as a cashier for 17 years at Nellie Stokes in Camden. She enjoyed baking, and doing crossword puzzles. Helen was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, David and Daniel Withrow; brothers, Eugene Wachtl and his wife, Albina, Don Wachtl, Jerry Wachtl, Allen Wachtl, Roger Wachtl, Bob Wachtl, Maurice Wachtl and his wife, Dolores; and sisters, Eunice Grassl Curry and Grace Zenner. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Forrest V. Withrow, of Dover; sons, Michael D. Withrow and his wife, Sue, of Felton, Patrick J. Withrow, of Dover; daughter, Karen Herbert and her husband, Gary, of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Norman Wachtl and his wife, Jane, of Alabama; sisters, Margaret Sabo, of Arizona, Harriet Reinicke, of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Joshua Withrow and his wife, Brandi, Bryan Withrow and his wife, Kelly, Matthew Carter, Cody Withrow and his wife, Lindsey, Jessica Withrow, Katherine Withrow, Nicole Withrow and Owen Withrow; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kimberly, Sophia, Cameron. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
