Helen M. McAllister, 80

LEWES - Helen M. McAllister, passed away in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008. She was 80. She was born in Lewes, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Joseph ) Marsh. Helen and her late husband Clarence "Mac" owned and operated M&H Store on Route 5, Milton, from 1953 until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of Conleys United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her extended store family and together with her niece, Mary Buck of Milton, they prepared many special request meals. M&H Store had a wide county following, for their attention to each customers needs . She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clarence W. McAllister Jr. She is survived by her loving niece and devoted caretaker, Mary T. Buck, of Milton; several additional nieces and nephews; a brother, Richard J. Marsh, of Rehoboth; her beloved extended store family; and many loving friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
