DOVER - Helen M. "Peg" Clevenger, of Dover, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 87. Mrs. Clevenger was born May 9, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Charles Wenger and Helen Lister Wenger. She worked in the Capital Theatre in Dover in the early 1960's after which she began working in the Capital School system. In the 1970's she worked as a teller at Farmer's Bank on State Street in Dover. Mrs. Clevenger was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Merry Makers of Wesley UMC, Century Club, Book Club, Narf organization, and volunteer at the Blood Bank. She had a strong faith in God, was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She was a loving wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward W. Clevenger, Oct. 10, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy L. Reisinger and her husband Timothy A. of North Bowers Beach; her son, Raymond D. Clevenger and his wife Rina Schmidt-Clevenger of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Mary Schwandt of Collingdale, Pa.; five grandchildren, Raychel, Rebecca and Ryan, all of Texas, Laura and Nathan, both of North Bowers Beach; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 206 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901; Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
