POCOMOKE CITY, MD - Helen Grace Howard, 94, of Pocomoke City, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 6, 1916 in Messango, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Collins and Jency Taylor. She retired from Ames Department Store at the age of 72. Helen was an avid NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon) fan. She enjoy reading and watching TV especially the Game Show Network She is survived by one daughter, Betty Fletcher of Felton, Del.; one grandson, Rick Fletcher & wife Cynthia P. Fletcher of Harrington, Del.; two granddaughters, Sandra Caplinger & husband Chuck Caplinger of Woodside, Del. and Hope Reyes & husband Pablo Reyes of Felton, Del.; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; several nieces and her Cowger's Trailer Park "family" with whom she spent many hours under the shade trees, talking and watching the traffic go by on Worcester Highway. She will be sadly missed by all her friends and family In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Granville B. Howard in 1974 and a grandson, Bruce Edward Fletcher & five brothers. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Sally Dolch, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851.
