‘Healing Beyond Bullies & Bullets’ is Saturday in Wilmington

WILMINGTON — A gun violence-prevention event called “Healing Beyond Bullies & Bullets” will be held Saturday at Brown-Burton Winchester Park, 26th and Pine streets, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The event, organized by Churches Take a Corner, will feature a splash party, COVID-19 vaccines, free food, basketball tournaments, live entertainment, children’s games and more. Guests are encouraged to wear T-shirts of loved ones who died due to the coronavirus or gun violence.

National recording artist Jaz Jordan will be performing, along with Tracy Shy Simmons, Amillion the Poet, Fred Reed, A.J. Harding and Twin Poets. Apostle Linda D. Henry will be speaking at the event.
