With the opening of a bridge across Del. 16 on the northbound side of Del. 1, near Milton, drivers can go from Lewes to the Pennsylvania line and beyond without hitting a stoplight. Have the overpasses and upgrades to the highway enhanced your commutes and travel in Delaware? Have they brought with them any concern about speeding and safety?
I drive from Lincoln to Rehoboth Beach for work. It’s much quicker with no light, especially in the summer. But now, it would be nice if we could focus on some of those backroads. Some of them are in really bad condition. — Courtney Wooldridge Elkins
The upgrades sound great for some, but for those of us who need to access fields and farms along the highway, it’s a different story. I live on Del. 1, just north of Del. 16, and it’s getting harder to get on or across — with farm equipment and in my car — due to increased traffic and fewer safe crossing points. — Kaye Bennett

Why would they when the state spends millions of taxpayer dollars on them? We were told no for years and “We do not want them.” And then, they decided to put speed cameras along the route. So, what do you think? — Kyle Hendrix
