I consider Rep. Mike Smith, R-Pike Creek, one of the most levelheaded politicians in the state. I’m a registered independent voter, and I consider his views often in line with mine. Where we split is that he seems to blame a lot of our overspending on illegal immigrants.
It’s the same old, same old. Again, they are not entitled to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. What Medicaid they can get is for emergency services and newborn delivery. But I believe this cost is offset by the payroll taxes they pay, like for Social Security and Medicare. They also do numerous jobs that you won’t get Americans to do. And we all know that to be true. I challenge you to Google this question.
With the current administration’s policies on climate and the current U.S. birth rate, how will this effect future Social Security and Medicare?
