Harlan Dewey

SEAFORD - Harlan "Glenn" Dewey passed away Mon., Apr. 27, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Harlan was born in Erin, N.Y. the son of the late Charles and Grace Dewey of Chemung, N.Y. He served in the United States Marine Corp, starting in 1953. His career in Works Engineering Field at A. I. DuPont ended in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, watching nascar and gardening. However, above all, he enjoyed his family. In addition to his parents he preceded in death by his brothers, Charles "Tim" Dewey, Willis Tharp; and sisters, Jeanne Post and Hope Derenbacker. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie A. Dewey, which was the sunshine and Godsend of his life; two sons, Kevin B. Dewey and his wife, Kim of Seaford and Willis G. Dewey and his wife, Clara of Bridgeville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren whom he loved more than life itself; and two sisters, Jackie Giles and Joyce Feathers of Chemung, N.Y. Memorial Service will be held on Sat., May 9th at 4 P.M. at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, where friend may call from 3 to 4. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery with the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, P O Box 92, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
