Hannelore Arbogast

Hannelore Arbogast, 83

SMYRNA - Hannelore Arbogast, of Smyrna, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, in the Arbors of New Castle Nursing Home. She was 83.

Mrs. Arbogast was born July 5, 1924, in Poland.

From Poland, she moved to Germany during World War II and then moved to the United States with her husband, the late Clarence B. Arbogast, and they spent most of their adult life in Smyrna.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed doing volunteer work with Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Arbogast was also a volunteer crossing guard in Smyrna.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Herta Mohlendick.

She is survived by a son, Harold R. Arbogast and his wife Dorothy of Bear; granddaughters, Sandra Roberts and her husband Rich of East Windsor, N.J., Lisa Snyder and her husband Brandon of Bear and Kelly Arbogast of Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Roberts; two sisters, Lollie Eiben and Erna Krauz, both of Germany; her sisters-in-law, Marie Arbogast and Golda Walker; her friend, Louise Craig; and many nieces and nephews.

Hannelore was a loving and caring foster parent to many children who became members of her immediate family, Ron Walstrum and his wife Lori of Newark, Tina Guthrie of Bear, Carol McBride of New Castle and Betty Villars.

The family would like to thank the loving and patient staff of the Arbors, who have cared for Hannelore over the past eight years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
