WILMINGTON — Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County will be extending its Rock the Block community outreach to the northeast of Wilmington thanks to a partnership with Republic Services.

Through this partnership, Habitat will lead a neighborhood clean-up initiative, beautification project or distribution activity and a creative placemaking investment initiative.

Andre Wilburn, Habitat’s new NCC Neighborhood Revitalization coordinator for the northeast, will plan and implement the program through the new Rock the Block community projects. Mr. Wilburn will act as a community liaison for the northeast, working with community residents, partners such as Republic Services, and local government and civic leaders to carry out each project.

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is one of 11 organizations receiving a National Neighborhood Promise grant for 2021 from the Republic Services Charitable Foundation.

Through National Neighborhood Promise, the Republic Services Charitable Foundation partners with select nonprofits to support neighborhood revitalization projects and programs in local communities.
