WILMINGTON — Habitat for Humanity New Castle County staff and board members welcomed HFH International CEO Jonathan Reckford to the affiliate’s monthly board meeting to congratulate CEO Kevin Smith on his 25th anniversary.

During the celebratory call, Mr. Reckford invited board members and staff to write down words and phrases that described Mr. Smith. Among the phrases presented across the screen were “patience,” “advocate” and “faster than a nail gun.”

“Faith and action are so much what defines Habitat and I think defines Kevin as well,” Mr. Reckford said. “Because of Kevin’s outstanding leadership and his faithfulness, New Castle County Habitat has a great deal to celebrate.”

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County currently has 21 affordable homes under construction, launched a statewide Refrigerator Replacement Program implemented through the Habitat ReStores in Delaware and is poised to scale the signature “Rock the Block” initiatives in the City of Wilmington.

The affiliate will celebrate Mr. Smith’s service and the agency’s own 35th anniversary June 3, with a testimonial breakfast.
