EASTON, Md. - H. Celeste Cole, of Easton, formerly of Crumpton, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, after a long illness. She was 57. Miss Cole was born in Dover, Del., the daughter of the late Howard and Betty Lou Bayne Cole. For many years Celeste worked as a secretary in the Hoon and Associates Law office in Chestertown. Celeste loved teaching Sunday school and attending Crumpton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with children. She enjoyed reading until her eyesight would no longer allow her to read. She also enjoyed needle point and crafts and working on the church bulletin board. Celeste is survived by one sister, Susan Meredith of Crumpton; one brother, Greg Cole of Chestertown; one niece and one nephew also survive her. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd., Chestertown, where friends and family may call after noon. Interment will be in the Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Crumpton United Methodist Church, Sunday School Account, P.O. Box 343, Crumpton, MD 21628.
