Elliott, Jr., 85 GEORGETOWN - Greensbury "Joe" Elliott, Jr., 85, of Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Greensbury Elliott, Sr. and Mary (Murphy) Elliott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for the State of Delaware, Bridge Maintenance, retiring July 31, 1990. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 4961. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a fan of the Orioles, Cowboys and NASCAR. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene (Henry) Elliott; children, Darlene West and husband Kevin West, Sr. of Georgetown and Jo Anne Jackson and husband Gary of Millsboro; siblings, Jeanette Melson of Dagsboro, Melvin Elliott of Millsboro, Doris Tubman of Selbyville, Norma Esque of Port Orange, Fla., Ruth Scott of Georgetown and Robert Elliott of Seaford; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2014 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 12 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
