Gloria Jean Coverdale

MILFORD - Gloria Jean Coverdale passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at Delaware Hospice Center. Gloria was born in Milford, daughter of the late Marvin and Doris Lightcap. She worked as a Lab Technician for the State of Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends on the family's farm. Mrs. Coverdale was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Milford, the Milford Elks Lodge, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Miller. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lawrence O. Coverdale, of Milford; her daughter, Lisa Locklear and her husband, Jeremy Locklear, of Georgetown; her son, Lawrence Coverdale, II and his wife, Candace Coverdale, of Lincoln; her son, Craig Burgholzer and his wife, Hilary Burgholzer, of Ellendale; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Miller, of Seaford; her brother, Marvin Lightcap and his wife, Kathryn Lightcap, of Wilmington; her sister, Sharon Whooten, of Milford; her grandsons, Bobby Locklear, Caleb Locklear, Bryan Miller, Austin Webb, Brayden Coverdale, and Aiden Burgholzer; and her many nieces and nephews. Pursuant to Gloria's wishes, on Nov. 18, 2016 the family will receive visitors at the Milford Elks Lodge, 18951 Elks Lodge Rd., Milford, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow from 7 to 11 p.m. with a DJ, hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. In lieu of flowers, please make donations, in Gloria's name, to Delaware Hospice Center at 100 Patriots Way Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
