ELLENDALE - Gloria J. Webb, age 60, of Ellendale, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Milford Memorial/Bay Health, Milford. She was born in Milford the daughter of late Clarence E. and Ida Mae (Short) Abbott. Gloria was a member of the Ellendale United Methodist Church and served as an MYF Leader in the early 1980's. She worked as a secretary for DelDot retiring in 1988. She was a lifetime member of the Ellendale Fire Co. and Ladies Aux. and served as one of the units first female firefighters in the 1970's. She played music with her husband's band "Country Devils" in the 80's. She created a non-profit community group (Ellendale Civic Organization) in the early 90's to assist needy families pay their bills. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed plastic canvas, crocheting and puzzles. She always put others in front of herself, always was "ok" when asked even when she was having an awful day with her MS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Satterfield. She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Webb of Ellendale; daughters, Sheila Donovan and son-in-law Wayne Donovan of Greenwood, and Crystal McGee and companion Steve Johnson of Ellendale; brother, James Abbott Sr. and wife Diane of Ellendale; grandchildren, Alexis and Callie Stevens, Makayla Satterfield, Courtney Russum, Donald McGee and Brandon Donovan; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in the chapel of Ellendale United Methodist Church, Rt. 16, Main Street, Ellendale, where friends may call one hour earlier.
