Gloria I. Cooper

Camden - Gloria I Cooper was born on Dec. 12, 1932 to the late James Earl and Letha Anna . Saulsbury in Parkers Chapel, Delaware. She departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del. Mother Cooper was united in holy matrimony to Bishop Joseph P. Cooper Sr. on July 17, 1957. She was a full time homemaker for many years. She was later employed by international Playtex and retired after fourteen years. After retirement she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mother Cooper was a faithful member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of God. She was also a member of several choirs: The Joy Night Choir, National Convention Choir, and Emmanuel Divine Gospel Mass Choir. Mother Cooper leaves to morn her passing; her devoted husband Bishop Joseph P. Cooper Sr.; daughter Patricia Floyd of Camden, Del.; five sons, Joseph Jr. (Katrina) of Smyrna, Del.; Wayne (Patricia) of New Castle, Del.; Michael of Newark, Del.; James (Andrea) of Wyoming, Del. and Kenneth of Camden, Del., four sisters-in-law: Helen Saulsbury of Chesapeake, Va.; Sylvia Saulsbury of Hilton Head, S.C.; Lula Cooper of Lincoln, Del.; and Anne Saulsbury of New York, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be at Powerhouse Ministries 115 Glenwood Ave. Smyrna, De, Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. with a two hour viewing prior to the service. There will also be a public viewing at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of God 145 Center Street Camden, DE, Friday Dec. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services have been entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home 717 West Division Street Dover, DE 19904. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
