Stokes, 77 MILFORD - Glendora Postles Stokes passed away peacefully on June 16, 2013 at the Season's Hospice Center at Christiana Hospital. She was born April 7, 1936, she was the daughter of Reynolds and Jessie Postles. She was a 1955 graduate of Felton High School. After high school, she was a telephone operator for Farmer's Bank until she married Albert Stokes, May 26, 1957. After being a full time homemaker she returned to work as a Baker at the Lake Forest High School on its opening day. She retired after 20 years. She and her husband then made wooden toys, puzzles and traveled to many craft shows along Delmarva as "Wood N Stuff". She also loved to paint, sew and crochet whenever she had free time. She enjoyed square dancing as a member of the Diamond State Twirlers. She traveled to national square dance conventions across the country. She was a fifty year member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served in many capacities. She was the best grandmother to Courtney Stokes, Thomas and Christopher Gulledge, and Karen and Andy Silbereisen. She would be to every softball game, little league game and soccer games (especially Polytech) that the children were involved in. She was preceded by her husband of 50 years, Albert Stokes. She is survived by her children, Robert Stokes and his fiance', Patty Ray and her children, James, Brandy, and Michelle Germick and Sandra Stokes Gulledge; her mother, Jessie Postles (Frederica); her sister, Edith Farrow; and her brother, R. Joe Postles. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE., where friends may call Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
