MILFORD - Gladys A. Bennett, 89, of Milford, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at home. Mrs. Bennett was born in Cedar Neck, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lydia (Argo) Bennett. She helped her late husband Norman run and work the family farm. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and especially antiquing and going to auctions. She was a member of Cedar Neck Church, the Delaware Farm Bureau and the U.S. Trotting Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. Bennett, in 1990; a son Thomas W. Bennett, Sr. in 2009; and a great grandson, Isaiah Bennett in 2007. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diana Bennett; a sister, Phyllis Robinson; three grandchildren, Thomas W. Bennett, Jr. and his wife Christina, Michael Millman, and Michelle Biggs and her husband Philip; five great grandchildren, Gabriel Bennett, Bethany Bennett, Luke Biggs, Megan Biggs and Brady Biggs. Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends called from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Slaughter Neck Cemetery, Argos Corner, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
