Gertrude Baynum Smith, 84 GREENWOOD - Gertrude Baynum Smith, formerly of Lewes, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 84. She was born in Lewes October 14, 1925, daughter of the late Harry T. Baynum and Virginia "Vergie" (Palmer) Baynum. She was a member of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Milford, and a member of the Senior Center in Greenwood. She was an avid Elvis Fan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Lynn Baynum Jr. Surviving are her son, Lynn C. Baynum and wife Shirley of Seaford; granddaughter, Traci Youst; grandson, Brad Baynum; six great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Matthew Biscoe of Greenwood; and caregivers for the past ten years, Maureen and Jesse James of Greenwood. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
