Gerald V. Foster

DOVER - Gerald 'Jerry' V. Foster, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord Wed., Oct. 13, 2010, at KGH Bay Health Dover. He was 76. He was born on May 12, 1934, in Friendship, N.Y., to the late Clifton and Genevieve Sweeney Foster. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church were he had a passion for ushering. He served in the U.S.A.F. for 20 years and was civil service for 24 years and 10 years part time with NAPA Auto Parts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing. Family gatherings with friends were special to him. He is preceded in death by a son, John Clendaniel; two brothers, Richard Foster and James Foster. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy M. Foster of Dover; daughter, Nancy Reece of Millington, Md.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Mass of Christan Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs. Oct. 21, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover. Friends may call Wed., Oct. 20, 2010, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
