SEAFORD - George W. Craft, 86, of Seaford, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at his home in Seaford. He was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Hebron, a son of the late Julius and Hilda (Hildman) Craft. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Oak Grove for many years. For over 20 years George worked as a delivery man and ice cream maker for Larrimore Dairy in Seaford until the business closed. He then spent 25 years working for Dave Webb at Mobile Gardens, setting up homes and maintaining the water treatment plant. George will be remembered as a true family man who enjoyed family dinners and get togethers. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Bargain hunting at auctions, coin collecting and flowers were also favorite hobbies of George's. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and woodworking projects and used his talents to refinish all of the pews in Bethel United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Phil Craft and his wife Dodi of Seaford; a daughter, Christine C. Waller and her husband Douglas of Seaford; five grandchildren, Randy Widdowson, Holly Ayers, Megan Hare, Lindsay Whelan, and Brittany Roberts; ten great-grandchildren, Tatum, Aully, K-Ci, Cole, Bailey, Madison, Caden, Aaron, Brayton and Dylan; a brother, Donald Craft and his wife Eileen of Bridgeville; and two sisters, Rita Layton of Seaford and Nita Conaway and her husband, Emerson of Bridgeville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beatrice "Bea" Prettyman Craft, who passed in 2000; and two sisters, Louise Wheedleton and Dorothy Russell. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Oak Grove. The Rev. Dr. Everett C. Isaacs will officiate.
