George R. 'Bob' Loney, 59
CLAYTON - George R. "Bob" Loney, of Clayton, passed away peacefully on Friday morning March 6, 2009, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 59. He was the son of the late Mae Loney. Bob was a native Delawarean and a graduate of A.I. Dupont HS. He provided sales and service to the fire and safety industry throughout the tri-state area. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, spending time with his three grandchildren and loved all his dogs. Bob was well known for his sense of humor and rarely went anywhere that someone that didn't know him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne. He is survived by his wife Vicki of 39 years; sons, Michael, and Richard and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Brayden, Conor, and Makenzie; and his brother, Gene Fulton. The family would like to express their appreciation for the caring staff at Christiana Hospital, Dr. Shakamuri and his staff, and all of the others who provided care for Bob during his battle with cancer. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Interment will be 11 a.m., Wednesday March 11, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Newark.
