George N. Reed, 87 HARRINGTON - George N. Reed, 87, of Harrington, passed away surrounded by all of his loving family, Sunday, April 25, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Magnolia, to parents, Nelson and Lillie Reed. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army. During his life, he worked at Claymont Steel, Chester, Pa. Shipyard; Bond Bread; Ducat Poultry; Pizzadelli Poultry; Kirby and Holloway, and finally at Pony Express, where he retired from. He loved racing, and was a Chief Stewart of NASCAR. He was the founder of DARA (Delmarva Auto Racing Association). He enjoyed camping; attending all sorts of sports events to watch his grandchildren participate; and he loved family functions, especially Christmas. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anna Mae Murphy Reed in 2005. He is survived by four children, Geraldine (Jerrie) and Kenny Paul Outten, George Nelson and Michele Reed, Robert (Bobby) and Barbara Reed, all of Harrington, and Deborah (Deb) and James Lyons of Milford; grandchildren, Beth and Craig Jacobs, Ken Outten, Robbie and Cora Reed, JoAnn and Chris Kenton, Kim Lyons Rosenquiest and J.R. Roosa, Greg and Tracy Reed, Brian and Tayna Reed, Dawn Baker, Jennifer and Chris Hill, and Jamie Lyons; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Shawn and Ashyln Jacobs, Shaina and Jessica Reed, Jessalynn, Carter and Joshua Kenton, Chase and Cayne Rosenquiest, Morgan and Caitlin Reed, Jordan Reed, Zackery Strachar, Cadene and Dillana Reed, Kayla and C.J. Baker, Alyssa Lyons, and Jaxon Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 29, at Asbury UM Church in Harrington. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Milford Center, 700 Marvel Road, Milford, DE 19963; or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
