DOVER - George Leon Zlock, of Dover passed away peacefully on September 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mr. Zlock graduated from North Caroline High School in Denton, Md., class of 1961. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on a submarine. He had his own business repairing and selling used appliances in Dover. He was a detailed craftsman and had a strong work ethic. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, renovating a 1946 Aeronca Champ vintage airplane, getting his aviator's license and flying his plane, fishing, and renovating older boats. Mr. Zlock was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Dover. He especially enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up. Mr. Zlock was the son of the late George Zlock and Lula Rebecca Steele Zlock. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Mary Lois Adams; two sons, Andrew Brian Zlock and his wife Christine of Smyrna and Robert Alan Zlock and his wife Diana of Felton; his brother, Gary Zlock and his wife Donna of Denton, Md.; his sisters, Joyce Cohill of Hillsboro, Md., Barbara Little and her husband Joe of Denton, Md., Christine Fike and her husband Sam of Cordova, Md.; 4 grandchildren, Zachery Zlock, Drew Zlock, Emma Zlock and Daniel Zlock; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901 where there will be a viewing from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church at the above address or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
