George Hamilton Grigsby, 69

DOVER - George Hamilton Grigsby, died on Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Milford Hospice Center, Milford. He was 69. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth; and sister, Beverly. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Jamie; daughter, Dana (Dennis); one granddaughter, Da'Jae; nephews, Mark Lucus (Toi) of Maryland; Alphonso Smith (Charlotte) of North Carolina; and one niece, Michi Howard of North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Howard of South Carolina, Margaret Smith of North Carolina, and Elaine Grigsby of North Carolina; four loving and devoted daughters, Marlene Smith Santiago (Louis) of Philadelphia, Pa., Stephanie Scott of Dover, Marlene Simmons of New Castle, and Lisa Irving (Lawrence) of Smyrna; Regina and Roddie Byers of Dover, who he fondly called his brother and sister; and a host of cousins. George will always be fondly remembered by many friends. Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Gardens, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
