FREDERICA - Genevieve J. Vogel, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 67. She was born on Jan. 8, 1942 in Ovapa, West Virginia, daughter of the late Early Murphy and Anne Murphy. Genevieve had worked as a home health aide. She enjoyed reading books, making crafts, collecting hummingbirds, dolphin figurines, and flowers, especially daisies. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Thurley Murphy, Harley Murphy and Archie Murphy. She is survived by two sons, Eddy Cunningham Jr. and Russell Cunningham, both of Frederica; two brothers, Edward Murphy, of New Mexico and James Murphy, of Willow Grove; three sisters, Martha Murphy, of Gallipolis, W.Va., Frances Caldwell, of Dover, and Christina Edwards, of Camden-Wyoming; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful cat companion, Baby. Services will be 8 p.m. Monday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to help with expenses.
