Freeman Alton Coverdale, 86 GEORGETOWN - Freeman Alton Coverdale of Georgetown, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at his home. He was 86. Freeman was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Georgetown, to the late Abraham Coverdale and Clara Harman. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Naomi A. Coverdale. He is survived by a nephew, Larry (Betty) Coverdale; niece, Gail Coverdale of Georgetown; three great nieces, NaTascha Coverdale Hughes of Georgetown, Rhondalin (Donnie) Cannon Wise, and Kimberly Cannon, both of Seaford; 12 great-great nieces and nephews; a special god-daughter, Lisa Jones of Dover; and a host of other family, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Prospect A.M.E. Church, Georgetown. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The burial will immediately follow the service at Harmony Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Seaford.
