Free Delaware Botanic Gardens entry with food donation Saturday

DAGSBORO — Delaware Botanic ardens at Pepper Creek is offering free admission on Saturday, Earth Day, for nonmember adults who bring food donations for the Food Bank of Delaware.

Children 16 and under are always admitted free.

Needed items include applesauce, cranberry sauce, oatmeal, cold cereal, pudding mix, canned pumpkin, graham cracker pie crust, canned gravy, rice, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, hearty soup, corn muffin mix, canned sweet potatoes and yams, canned peas and green beans, 100% fruit juice, hot chocolate, coffee and tea, and evaporated milk.

The Delaware Botanic Gardens is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 30220 Piney Neck Road.
