Frederick C. Goertz

SMYRNA - Frederick C. Goertz, of Smyrna, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 82. Mr. Goertz was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Tenafly, N.J., to the late Frederick Philip Goertz and Emily Helen Goertz. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Goertz worked as a professional driver for many years in Morris Plains, N.J. until 1988 when they moved to the Pocono's. After his retirement he and his wife Margaret moved to Smyrna. Mr. Goertz leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Margaret "Peggy" Goertz of Smyrna; sons, Douglas Frederick Goertz and his wife Cindy Ann of Dover and Donovan Khevron Goertz and his wife Lareena DeAnn of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandsons, Benjamin Douglas and Coban Peter Goertz, both of Dover; and an extended family of five stepsons. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Memorial services will be private. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
