MILLSBORO - Fred J. Burtonpassed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Parkview Nursing Home in Wilmington. Fred was born in Millsboro, son of the late Lester and Alice (Moore) Burton. He was a retired farmer. He enjoyed being outside and working on his farm. He was an avid animal lover and had many pets over the years. Fred also enjoyed following local and national politics. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Tillie) Scott Burton. Fred is survived by his two daughters, Laura Minker and her husband Richard and Tracey Hausel and her husband, Robert; & two grandchildren, Sam and Kate Minker. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road in Millsboro, where friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. George's Chapel Cemetery, 20274 Beaver Dam Rd, Harbeson, DE 19951. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Fred's memory to the animal shelter of your choice. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.melsonfuneralservices.com
