FELTON - Franklin Paul Roe Sr., 74, of Felton, formerly of Milford, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Roe was born in Felton, the son of the late Daniel P. and Florence E. (Hitchens) Roe. He served in the Milford National Guard then entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served on the USS Henley DD762 Destroyer and the USS Tidewater AD 31. Mr. Roe was given the honor of being named as an honorary crew member of the USS Tripoli. He was a Plumbing and Heating Contractor in Greenwood for many years. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things up,he was quite the handyman. He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans and a Life Member of the P.V.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Roe and Daniel Roe formerly of Milford; and three sisters, Mary Emma Moul, formerly of New Oxford, Pa., Helen Wyatt, formerly of Newark, and Margaret Carlisle formerly of Frederica. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June W. Roe, of Felton; one daughter, Peggy Sue Valdesere and husband Robert of Felton, with whom he resided at time of death; two sons, Franklin Roe, Jr. and his wife Bobbie of Weidman, Mich.; and Garry Lee Roe and his wife Debbie, of Dover; one sister, Doris Hollinger, of Dover; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He enjoyed and loved his family very much, and will be sadly missed by all. Burial services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
