DOVER - Franklin Carey, of Dover, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Silverlake Nursing Home. He was 89. Mr. Carey was born July 10, 1922, in Dover, to the late John W. Carey and M. Pearl Hutchison Carey. He worked his entire life farming for others in the Smyrna Clayton area. Mr. Carey loved to watch people fishing at Woodland Beach and taking drives in the country especially in Delaware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean McVey Carey in 2003; by his brothers, John Fred and John Wilson Carey; sister, Catherine Moor. He is survived by his sister, Mary Willis of Dover and many nieces, nephews. At the request of the deceased there will be no services.
